There is a spiritual war to occupy our thoughts. God provides the weapons to use in this battle. He gives us the ability to choose what we think.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Our thoughts are crucial because they dictate our actions and words. When injustices occur in our lives or someone we love, we desire to be the vindicator. Our right to hold onto offenses, whether our own or someone else's, is forfeited when we accept Jesus as our Savior. There is no justification for avenging ourselves or someone we love. Jesus paid the highest price to be our vindicator. Therefore, we ought not to allow our flesh to have authority over our spirit. Injustices must not become a stumbling block in our lives.

We will not battle people in the natural when we know the battle is spiritual. When we fight in the flesh nothing godly is accomplished. To walk and war in the spirit, we must read the word daily. We cannot walk in faith and obedience if His word is not rooted in our hearts and reigning over our thoughts. It is easy to become bitter and gossip about people who hurt us. Instead, we must pray blessings over them with a forgiving heart.

When we meditate on God's word day and night, we will easily refuse the enemy's lies. We must bring every thought that is contrary to God's word into captivity. It is time to mature in the Lord by walking in obedience. The fullness of obedience includes taking every thought captive. When we know our identity in God, we will immediately recognize thoughts from the enemy. Aligning with lies will make us waver in our faith by being double-minded. We cannot win this battle if our thoughts are in agreement with anything but God's truth.

It is time to stop warring against people and start waging war in the spirit. God gave us His word as a weapon, which is sharper than any two-edged sword. Our words bring death and advance the kingdom of darkness when wielded against people in anger and bitterness. Our words should build up His Kingdom and those in our sphere of influence. It is time to arise as a united body to stand against every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. It is time to make Jesus Lord over our thoughts.

We ask that You be Lord over our hearts and thoughts. We break every agreement made with the enemy's lies. We align our thoughts with Your truths. Never allow our thoughts to stray from Your word. Draw us back in when we get carried away with our thought process. We want to resemble You. Therefore, we must think like You.
